Botrugno is a small town of about 3,000 inhabitants in the province of Lecce, is located inland of the Salento peninsula, 10 km from the Adriatic Sea. Founded originally by the Greeks, begins to come alive after the destruction of nearby Muro Leccese. It later passed to Maramonti, who built the imposing Marquis Palace .
