It was 1984 and with a name borrowed from a secret agent of a serial of earlier twenty years , the band was catapulted into the English top 20 .
The group now consists of Mark Reilly, and former keyboard player and session man Wham!, Mark Fisher. In 1986 the eponymous Matt White, Indigo released in 1988. After another 33 laps with Warner Brothers, Reilly and Fisher split up the Major and transition into independent production.
After a very successful return to the scene in 2004, Mark and Mark repopulate the scenes dela latin and acid jazz with an album, Matt's Mood, which brings them back to the crossroads sound exactly where they had left.
And with a new album, Hifi Bossanova, produced in Japan in 2009, the band returned with the intent to experience the kinds of contamination, latin, jazz and funk with the mood of the pop trio's founding.
