BARLETTA JAZZ FESTIVAL 2011

The concert will open the festival with a new project created precisely for the opening of the festival, with the important Italian jazz names such as Claudio Fasoli and Massimo Manzi. The evening will also feature screenings curated by Francesco Assenta.

English Bassist, American by adoption, he played with Miles Davis recording some of the milestones of jazz fusion, and with Chick Corea and Herbie Hanckok, being often the sideman, and many other big names in international jazz scene. As special guest of Barletta Jazz Festival he presents a formation with which has recently won several Grammys. Among others Chris Potter on tenor sax and Steve Nelson on vibes and marimba. Followed by a jam session at the Saint Patrick's Jazz Club

Young and acclaimed American pianist with his new project, The Robert Glasper Experiment, you can listen him in his special quartet performances with saxophonist Casey Benjamin, in a more electric hip pop version and together enjoy the moments of intense lyricism he used to give his audience.

At the Jazz Club Saint Patrick the evening continues undein the open air with Vito Di Modugno Organ Quartet, organist of Bari which is one of the top local jazz.

The saxophonist, born in Puglia in Cisternino (Brindisi), now living in Madrid, began studying music with the piano, drums and later the saxophone. His talent has taken him around the world allowed to accumulate experiences and interests that have enriched his professional luggage and that confirmed his talent.

Closing night of BARLETTA JAZZ FESTIVAL with Hammond B3 feat Dr Lonnie Smith, at Swabian Castle. Absolute master of the organ, with his eclectic style, never granted, and the ever-present energy and joy that knows how to infuse his music and in his public, qualities that have allowed him to carry around all over the world, his creativity and performing for over four decades with all the greatest musicians around. At the end of the evening, artists and the public are all invited to the Jazz Club Saint Patrick's outdoor club for the final jam session.
