The "A Classic Education" close the long live season of Rubik's Arci.
The A Classic Education have written the album in Bologna, the city where they live, assimilating vintage shots of Danny Lyon, Diane Arbus, Wlliam Gedney and Mario Giacomelli. Hot photos of bikers dream, streets and filth, the gangs of Chicago Outlaws and young draped leather all impressions that emerge from a very distant past now.
The overlap of these grainy images with the medieval streets of Bologna and its bright red roofs, have shaped Call It Blazing - a candid portrait of a time forgotten modern pop music, where mix dreamy guitars, shimmering melodies sixties, post-punk howl and songs of the first era of rock and roll. All filtered by an unmistakable European pop sensibility. There are 12 songs that explore the meaning of malice and neglect, disillusionment and the desire to escape, pervaded by a desire not to bend any rules: a modern set of ideas but suspended in time.
The A Classic Education, or the Canadian Jonathan Clancy and Luca Mazzieri gang, Paul Pieretto Giulia Mazza and Frederick Oppie, they decided to record Call It Blazing in Brooklyn, New York, in studies of Jarvis House Rear Taveniere (Woods, Vivian Girls, Real Estate, Widowspeak, Ganglians).
The band has played over the past two years around the world with over 100 dates in UK, USA and Canada.
In 2011 the band completed its first full tour of the United States and Canada over 30 dates in support of British Sea Power (Rough Trade).
Blazing Call It comes out October 25th in the world for lefse, Japan and Italy for Moor Works for Storm International. The vinyl edition will be edited by Tannen Records.
